Nowwith far-reaching global ambitions, the brand is set to make an even bigger impact Scholars’ dedication to empowering students has garnered consistent recognition, including being designated “Franchisees’ Choice” for nine consecutive years by the Canadian Franchise Association (CFA). This award honours CFA members’ franchise systems which hold exceptional rankings in franchisee satisfaction. The franchise’s growth has been rapid, with over 75 new locations added in the last five years. “With our focus on helping as many children as we can to reach their full potential, that makes our expansion strategy interesting,” says CEOMatt Baxter says. “As we close in on 100 locations in Canada in 2025 we have expansion events planned on three continents.We’ll look into every opportunity when people who are motivated with a plan to help their community contact us.” Scholars is currently located within Canada, the United States and Bermuda. “We’ve had many conversations with potential master franchisees globally, but we are waiting for the right partners whose interests, vision and experience meet our standard of excellence,” Baxter continues. “We’ve met with various franchise brokers/ consultants in the U.K., Australia and the Middle East, and have attended many IFA conventions.We expect our international presence to expand significantly over the next 18 months.” Taking a franchise brand that originated in a small town in Canada in 1999 to a franchise system that has 88 locations, including a franchised location in New Orleans owned by an NFL football player, and a location in Bermuda, is no small feat. Over the next five years, Scholars plans to grow significantly. “We expect to reach 100+ locations by the end of 2025 and 250 locations by 2029,” Baxter continues. “That said, it is our sincere belief that growth cannot divert attention from providing the best possible support and innovation for our existing franchisees.” The hard work and dedication of Scholars’ franchisees has been key to their success. “Joining Scholars was one of the best decisions I made after retiring from professional football,” says former pro American Football player and current Scholars franchisee, Andy Fantuz. “As a former athlete, I understand the value of mentorship and discipline, and Scholars allowed me to channel those qualities into empowering students to reach their academic goals.” With plans for global expansion and a vision to empower learners worldwide, Scholars remains steadfast in its mission to inspire confidence, unlock potential, and shape brighter futures, one student at a time.
