Global Franchise 10.3

oConcept was founded in the summer of 1952, when JensÆrthøj and Tage Mølholm began their furniture business in Herning, Denmark. Combining traditional craftsmanship with Denmark’s wave of late industrialization, they set out to make quality Danish furniture accessible to a wider audience. From those early beginnings, BoConcept has grown into Denmark’s most global furniture brand, with a presence in 60 countries – and counting. Today, the brand creates furniture designed to enhance the way people live, work, and play. It typically appeals to two core customer segments: young professionals in their 30s and a more mature audience aged 45–60. Both share a metropolitan lifestyle and an appreciation for high-quality, urban Danish design. Through Danish creativity and craftsmanship, BoConcept elevates interiors with timeless, iconic designs known for their modularity, functionality, and uncompromising quality – all delivered with effortless style. For more than 70 years, the brand has collaborated with leading international designers including Mario Bellini, Morten Georgsen, Karim Rashid, Henrik Pedersen, and Nendo. Its mission – to elevate everyday living through Danish design – is captured in its guiding philosophy: Live Ekstraordinær. Positioned as “affordable premium,” BoConcept is committed to making aspirational design accessible while maintaining a strong premium presence. Customizable collections, a personalized interior design service, and a growing B2B trade program give franchise partners multiple revenue streams and clear opportunities for upselling. The customer experience is a defining strength of the brand. BoConcept delivers this through its Interior Design Advisory Service, made-to-order production model with no stock holding, and industry-leading delivery times. Highly reliable production facilities are supported by a comprehensive five-year warranty across all products. BoConcept is currently seeking both single-unit and multi-unit franchise partners worldwide. Franchisees benefit from extensive business support delivered through BoConcept’s global network of specialists, covering retail management, product and sales leadership training, marketing and communications, as well as operational and financial support. Previous furniture experience is not required. Instead, BoConcept looks for partners with a minimum of seven years’ managerial experience who are commercially and financially minded, and who enjoy leading and motivating small teams, typically comprising three to five full-time employees. Investment per store ranges from€350,000 to €400,000, with a minimum of €150,000 in own funds required. There are no royalty fees; however, franchise partners invest approximately 3.5% of net sales into local marketing. Return on investment is typically achieved within 24–36 months, with expected EBITDA levels of 10–12%.
