THE HUSTLE Achieving a healthy balance in life fuels Rob’s success as a board member and familyman I grewupwith hard-working parents and siblings and a healthy balance of intellectual curiosity, ambition, and ethical guardrails . While my upbringing was not affluent, my life was rich with opportunities to learn and laugh. My family was obsessed with Scrabble, puns, and bad jokes, which has enriched me and tormented others. My ambitions aremuch narrower now than earlier in my career . I measure success day to day. Am I a better husband, father, and teammate today than yesterday? Did I have a day where I felt healthy? Productive? Happy? Mymorning begins by reading customer feedback fromour schools around theworld . It’s never all positive, but the vast majority of comments are overwhelmingly enthusiastic, reminding me of the reasons to be excited about taking on the day. When home in Nashville, I stroll to Portland Brew for a decaf Americano, drinking in the local scene in music city. My job is inherently 24/7 . I’m very conscious that in order to maintain resilience, I must incorporate rest, downtime, exercise and laughter throughout the day. I schedule time each day “Music changedmy life and now I knowour community is creating the samemagic” What makes Rob Price tick? Music, family and fun are high on his list of priorities... Ironically, I wouldn’t want to be a rockstar. I would, however, enjoy having a little piano bar somewhere, where patrons would indulge me by allowing me to play a few songs each night. In the meantime, nothing is more satisfying musically than sitting with my wife and sons with a piano and some guitars. The best gig ever. GET TO KNOW... with no meetings, and I’m pretty good about honoring these blocks. Only concerns about family’s health keepme up at night . I have an incredible team that has helped me build a strong enterprise. When we have an inevitable setback, I take solace in knowing that my bandmates will be unrelenting. I’mgenerally a pescatarian, take probiotics, try to sleep at least seven hours andwork out . I alternate between an hour-long brisk walk and a nine-set whole body workout. I need to eat less and exercise more. I love non-fiction, using travel time to consume audio books voraciously . Most recently, I read The Coming Wave byMichael Bhaskar and Mustafa Suleyman, which offers a view to the most terrifying and exciting prospects of AI, quantum computing, and synthetic biology. To relax from the stress of the intense non-fiction I read, I love playing piano and guitar. Since I aman emptynester and mywife volunteers on a range of boards and local organizations, we have the flexibility to have a lot of fun when I’m not on the road. We enjoy museums, hiking, and traveling in our RV. My guilty pleasures are Taco Bell bean burritos and listening to BarryManilow . But don’t tell anyone! GLOBAL FRANCHISE.COM 79
