“In 2023we surpassed the $4 billionmilestone in systemwide sales” 26 NEIGHBORLY Amasterclass in meeting customer needs The future’s looking bright for Neighborly, the world’s largest home services company, which is exceeding targets for franchise development, reaffirming the strength of its system and showing long-term growth potential across its entire portfolio. “In 2023 we surpassed the $4 billion milestone in systemwide sales across our 30+ global brands and 5,000 franchises, after another year of strong same-store sales growth,” says interim CEO Jon Shell. “A core pillar of Neighborly’s strategy is finding the right owners for our brands to grow. Last year we saw increased interest from private equity sponsors who wanted to invest in this strategy by owning scaled franchises within the Neighborly system. “As we look ahead to 2024, our existing strategy continues to be our roadmap,” he continues. “We remain committed to expanding our brands’ footprints and awareness to strengthen our presence in key markets. We currently have 19 service brands in North America, which leaves us with only a few additional service lines to get into. Filling in the white space isn’t just about adding new brands and service verticals – it’s also about expanding the footprint of the brands we have today.” The Neighborly App, launched in 2021 and updated in April 2023, is key to reaching customers beyond the big search platforms and providing them with a frictionless experience. With App 2.0, customers can get inspiration for their home projects and quickly book an appointment to repair, maintain or enhance their home, making it easier to find and schedule services specific to need. Upselling and cross selling are features are slated for a future version of the Neighborly App. “For our customers using App 2.0, we can enhance our “offers” capability, including dynamic personalized offers, discounts or perks that they won’t find anywhere else,” Shell adds. “For our franchise owners, these can be customized by brand and by territory, providing them with a lot more flexibility to participate in offers if they want to drive more business.” 24 PRIMOHOAGIES Proving how solid strategy pays off In 2023, Primohoagies gained number one sandwich shop status in the USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards, no mean feat in America’s highly competitive fast-casual dining sector. This accolade would not have been possible without the brand’s rapid national expansion program and meticulous dedication to quality and authenticity, along with an honest commitment to community engagement and sustainable business practices – marking Primohoagies as a brand to watch in 2024. Primohoagies has set out aggressive growth goals and strategies, which along with a proven track record for successful franchise options and a strong support system for franchisees makes it an attractive option for aspiring entrepreneurs looking to break into the restaurant industry. The franchise doubled its sales and locations (over 100 opened last year) with goals to open a further 300 locations in the next few years. Last October, Primohoagies announced the appointment of a new business development director, Lauren Tesche-Johnson, who is charged with propelling PrimoHoagies’ brand growth into key markets through franchise development. ”Our ongoing success has created new avenues for network expansion, and we are eager to capitalize on those opportunities now with Lauren at the helm,” said CEO- owner Nicholas Papanier Jr. 25 FYZICAL Riding high on the health and wellness wave FYZICAL Therapy & Balance Centers has made big strides across the U.S. since 2020, bringing its medically based approach to health and wellness to over 500 locations in 45 states, thanks to a growing customer demand for physical therapy and balance support services, a robust economic model and great franchisee support. Following three outstanding years of growth, FYZICAL already had 48 agreements in development and plans for 100 new clinics and 160 new franchise agreements at the start of 2023, another big increase from the achievements of previous years. In 2024, the brand is honing its international ambitions on the Canadian market, as well as more locations in the U.S., further establishing itself as America’s fastest-growing physical therapy franchise, the market leader in balance and vestibular rehab, and a very interesting brand for investors to follow in the thriving healthcare sector.
